Stockinger committed to the Lotus earlier in February as one of the seven junior drivers being trained by the Formula One team that once had Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean.

"He had two days in the car and he didn't put a foot wrong. He did absolutely everything that was asked of him. With Marlon, the speed just came after the first few runs which was pretty good. His speed was there," said Lotus' Barry Mortimer in an interview with Chino Trinidad for 24 Oras.
Stockinger's biggest victory came just last year, when he finished at the top of the podium of the 2013 GP3 Series in Monaco.

"Motorsports, it's a melting pot of culture. Even as a Pinoy, I'm able to get along with them, I can communicate with them. They can see the potential at the end as well," said Marlon Stockinger in the same interview.
The 22-year-old was also quick to mention how his roots prepare him for the rigors of Formula One racing.
"If I'm at the back of the grid or at the front of the grid, I'm always fighting. I think that's one thing you can always see sa lahat ng Pinoy," added Stockinger. "That's one thing that I think that's always good to have, that fighting spirit." - GMA News
