Ricky Dandan will no longer coach the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, UP's UAAP board representative Ronnie Dizer, dean of the UP College of Human Kinetics, confirmed in a text message GMA News Online.

Multiple sources told GMA News Online Sunday that Dandan was on his way out, following a 67-59 loss to the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, last Wednesday.

As previously reported, assistant Rey Madrid is set to take over the coaching reins. A formal announcement of the new arrangement is scheduled to be made Tuesday.

Dandan went 3-33 during his tenure as UP head coach, which began in Season 74, a year after the Maroons went winless under Aboy Castro and interim mentor Boyet Fernandez.

Ironically, their last win came on August 19, 2012
