NCAA releases second-round schedule

The NCAA has released their schedule for the second-round of their seniors division basketball tournament.

On the heels of the EAC Generals closing out round one with a win over the Mapua Cardinals, round two begins this Saturday, with the Cardinals looking to bounce back versus the league-leading Letran Knights at 4pm. That will be followed by the defending champions San Beda College Red Lions looking to avenge their upset loss to the Lyceum Pirates at 6pm, both at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The tourney's elimination round wraps up on October 21, with Letran taking on San Beda, in a rematch of last season's Finals series.

Currently, Letran stands tall with only one loss, versus the Perpetual Help Altas, for an 8-1 record. San Beda and Perpetual Help are tied for second place with 7-2 cards, followed by the 5-4 JRU Heavy Bombers and the 4-5 San Sebastian Stags and EAC Generals.

Bringing up the rear is the host team, CSB Blazers, in a three-way tie with the Lyceum Pirates and the Arellano Chiefs at 3-6. The cellar-dwelling Mapua Cardinals meanwhile have a single win in nine tries. - AMD, GMA News
