UP Pep Squad places third in Cheerleading World Championships 2013

The University of the Philippines Pep Squad marked another successful international stint after bagging double third place finishes in the 7th Cheerleading World Championships (CWC) 2013 in Thailand on Sunday.

Representing the country, the UP Pep Squad won bronze in the Cheer Mixed category after Japan (1st) and Thailand (2nd), and in the Group Stunts Mixed category behind Russia (1st) and Thailand (2nd).

This victory comes months after their bid for a ninth UAAP Cheerdance Competition crown was stopped by National University.

In 2011, UP led the Philippine team at the sixth CWC in Hong Kong, where they placed third in the cheer mixed category. - AMD/JDS, GMA News
