The reigning UAAP champions Ateneo Lady Eagles bounced back from a five-set disappointment to the Arellano Lady Chiefs by taking out their frustrations on the Southwestern University Lady Cobras, sweeping their foes 25-13 25-18 25-20, Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Arena, in the Shakey's V-League Season 11 1st Conference.

Ateneo moved over the .500 mark in Pool A, while groupmates SWU fell to 1-4, completing their run.

Amy Ahomiro led both sides in scoring with 13 big points, including four off blocks and two service aces. Michelle Morente and Kassarandra Gequillana added nine markers apiece, more than making up for captain Alyssa Valdez's seven points in two sets.

The Lady Eagles dominated the non-scoring skills with a 29-12 difference in digs, 21-12 in sets and 16-12 in receptions.

No SWU player scored more than four points as Coach Jordan Paca tried to find the right combination of players on the court to provide a spark. Loida Abellana provided those four markers, all off spikes.

Things were just a little bit less lopsided due to the fact SWU got 29 points off opponents' errors, versus 25 for ADMU. - AMD, GMA News
