UAAP: Ravena, Pessumal wax hot as Eagles devour Archers

Kiefer Ravena scored 29 points, hitting four treys in the pivotal payoff period as the Ateneo Blue Eagles handed the De La Salle Green Archers their second straight loss, 97-86, Sunday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Von Pessumal scored 21 points to go along with seven boards and three assists. Former Green Archer Fonso Gotladera added 17 points and eight boards, while rookie Arvin Tolentino added 14.

Another former La Salle player Nico Elorde tallied nine points, seven boards and eight assists, while Chris Newsome chipped in seven. Aside from the six, no other Blue Eagle scored in the game.

The two teams went toe to toe in the first two quarters, as the Eagles edged the Archers, 39-37 at the half.

They both struggled from deep, hitting a combined seven treys off 40 tries, en route to having an identical 38 percent shooting clip.

The Eagles out-hustled the taller Archers in the rebounding department, 26-23, while matching them in assists, 8-8.

Perkins finished the game with 25 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Almond Vosotros had 18 points, while Jeron Teng chipped in 15.

Teng struggled with a 6 of 20 shooting clip from the field with 12 boards and four assists. Arnold Van Opstal finished the game with 10, while Norbert Torres had eight. — GMA News
