The University of the Philippines community on Saturday evening gathered at the Sunken Garden in Diliman for a bonfire celebrating the men's basketball team's first victory at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines since 2012.
UP Diliman posted on its Facebook account a 16-second video of people gathered at the Sunken Garden and counting down the seconds until the fire was lit.
Many held up smartphones and tablets to take photos and videos of the bonfire that marked the win of the UP Maroons over the Adamson Falcons, 77-64, hours earlier.
"Ang apoy para sa UP Fighting Maroons," UP Diliman said on its Twitter account.
GMA News reporter Joseph Morong, a UP alumnus, also posted a photo of the event on his Instagram account.
