The FEU Tamaraws quelled a late run by the DLSU Green Archers, riding the back to Mike Tolomia for a 65-60 win on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

With the victory, the Tams secure the twice-to-beat advantage in their virtual best-of-three matchup.

Freethrows from Jeron Teng and Norbert Torres tied the game at the 3:57 mark through back to back perfect runs at the charity stripe. An Arnold Van Opstal drive pushed La Salle ahead, 60-58, but Mike Tolomia converted on a difficult drive on the other end, before sinking two freethrows on his own.

A Norbert Torres miss from the lowblock led to a forward pass to an open Carl Cruz, pushing FEU's lead to three. Almond Vosotros' miss from deep led to another freethrow from Tolomia, making it a four-point game with seven seconds left. Cruz' split with six seconds left sealed the deal for the Tams. - GMA News
