Games Saturday – The Arena, San Juan 12 noon – Henkel Sista vs Harbour Centre 2 pm – San Miguel-Magnolia vs Burger King 4 pm – Dazz 'Sang Patak vs Toyota Balintawak Toyota Balintawak benefited from a two-day rest as they played with intensity in demolishing San Miguel-Magnolia, 79-68, in Thursday's continuation of the PBL Unity Cup eliminations at the Olivarez Sports Center in Paranaque City. Erick Rodriguez got the most of the 48-hour break and posted 26 points, including a 3-for-3 in the three point line, and 12 boards. Patrick Cabahug contributed 18 points for the Roadkings who now waves a 5-4 card. "Erick played for the national team and was really wasted. Our two-day break helped him recover from the fatigue and played very well today. But it was Patrick who converted the points we needed especially in the fourth quarter," said Ariel Vanguardia, whose wards duplicated their 66-51 win over the Beverage Masters in the first round. The Roadkings posted a 56-45 lead on a 6-0 bomb ignited by Rodriguez. Coach Koy Banal's boys threatened last when they came within 66-62. But Cabahug scored two consecutive 3-pointers to give the Roadkings enough breathing space with 4:19 left in the game. With the victory, Toyota Balintawak's chances of earning one of the two automatic spots in the semifinals increased. The Beverage Masters dropped to 2-7 and is now tied with Da zz 'Sang Patak for the last spot. - GMANews.TV
