Bustamante wins 2nd pool title in 2 weeks

Former world no. 1 Francisco "Django" Bustamante of the Philippines unseated defending champion Tony Chohan with a heart-stopping 5-4 victory to win the Hard Times Summer Jamboree One Pocket Division title Sunday at the Hard Times Billiards in Sacramento, California in the United States. Results posted on www.azbilliards.com said that Bustamante, who was without a single defeat when he pocketed the 9-ball division title of the Hard Times Summer Jamboree tournament last week, suffered not a single setback anew when he pocketed his second title in two weeks. Overall, this is Bustamante's third title for the year. The Filipino pool ace won his first title when he topped the UPA Pro Tour last April in Los Angeles, California. Bustamante won over Rafael Martinez, (3-1, Trevor Smith, 3-0, Frank Nordmann, (3-1, Ross Webster, 3-1, David Gross, 3-1, and at Chohan, 3-2, to gain the first finals spot. Chohan defeated Gross, who knock Philippine pool legend Jose "Amang" Parica out of the tournament with a 3-0 win, in the losers' side to arrange a rematch with Bustamante. So far, Bustamante has won 14 straight wins to earn two consecutive crowns. - GMANews.TV
