The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers strengthened their bid for a Final Four slot after it routed the National University (NU) Bulldogs, 84-72, in the second Sunday game of the 70th UAAP men’s basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. Rookie shooting guard Khasim Mirza was named as best player after he scored a game high 19 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal for the defending champions. The 6'4'' Mirza was also deadly from three-point territory after he went 5/10 from there. Dylan Ababou, 6’4’’ guard-forward also contributed well for the Tigers with his 16 points, eight rebounds and a steal. MVP leading contender Jervy Cruz has modest 12 points and 13 boards for UST’s cause. - GMANews.TV
