Boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao will be the guest of honor when the 2007 Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association (MVBA) second conference opens on Sunday at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Center. The league said in a statement Saturday that Pacquiao will toss the ceremonial ball with Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes. Pacquiao's own team - MP Warriors-GenSan - will take the court against host team Cebu Landmaster-Mandaue of Joe Soberano in the initial offering at 4:30 p.m. . The Warriors will parade practically the same roster from last season when they made the MVBA Finals in the first conference and the Mindanao Division Finals in the second. Former Mindanao MVP Louie Medalla will lead the way along with Apol Coronado, Jethrone Recustodio, Donald Tadena, Rolly Menor, Weng Farochillen and Jeffy Locsin. Also competing in the community-based league are 2007 First Conference Champion Holcim Pryce Pharma-MisOr of Gov. Oscar Moreno, multi-titled M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu City of Michel Lhuillier, Duterte-Davao Agilas of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Montana Pawnshop of Armando Quibod, West Negros College-Bacolod of Anthony Agustin and Arthro Kontra Arthritis of Jonathan Guardo. Action shifts to the New Cebu Coliseum on Tuesday with the Warriors visiting M. Lhuillier at 5:30 p.m.- GMANews.TV
