Runners brave rains for Red Cross’ ‘Million Volunteer Run’
Heavy rains did not stop runners from waking up early and participating in the Philippine Red Cross' nationwide "Million Volunteer Run 4," held at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta, Manila on Saturday.
The assembly time was at 4 a.m., but the run did not start until 6:00 a.m. Runners had the option of taking a 5-kilometer run, or a shorter 3-kilometer run.
The Philippine Red Cross said the event aimed to extend its network of one million volunteers to "awaken the volunteer spirit of the country."
