#UAAPSeason81 opens with Steph Curry, K-Pop star Minzy

The opening ceremony for the UAAP is always a special time of the year for athletes and fans, but it's quite the occasion when no-less than a two-time NBA MVP makes an apperance. 

Leading the oath-taking at the Season 81 opening ceremonies held at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday was Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry. 

It's safe to say that the participating athletes are all fired up and inspired to play their best.

Curry is currently in town for the Manila leg of his SC30 Asia tour. 

UAAP fans were then treated to a performance by Sponge Cola, James Reid, and the the National University squad.

K-Pop star and former 2NE1 member Minzy also performed for the Pinoy crowd.

After the shows, the UP Fighting Maroons will face the UE Red Warriors at 2 p.m., while the NU Bulldogs will battle against the UST Growling Tigers at 4 p.m. — AT, GMA News
