Kuo Po-Cheng of Chinese Taipei and Daryl Peach of England stepped up to the quarterfinals of the 2007 World Pool Championship on Friday night after taking out their last-16 opponents at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Kuo, runner-up to compatriot Wu Chia-Ching in 2005, beat Corey Deuel of the US, 11-7. And Peach, who kicked reigning champ Ronato Alcano out of the tournament, defeated Harald Stolka of Germany, 11-5. Peach will face Francisco "Django" Bustamante, who beat 2004 champ Alex Pagulayan. And Kuo will face whoever wins the match, still ongoing, between Niels Feijen of The Netherlands and Roberto Gomez of the Philippines. In other quarterfinals pairings, Mika Immonen of Finland, the only former champ left in the tournament, will face Vilmos Foldes of Hungary, and Joven Bustamante of the Philippines will face Karl Boyes of England. - GMANews.TV
