UFL 2012: Phil's two goals help Sparks beat Green Archers FC

Loyola Meralco forward Phil Younghusband scored two goals before the Sparks staved off a late comeback try by Green Archers FC in a 3-2 win Saturday in the United Football League (UFL) at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

An Arnie Pasinabo 67th-minute goal put Green Archers FC on the board while a Reynald Villareal header in the 77th cut the deficit to one.
But Loyola Meralco Sparks got the needed breaks when goalkeeper Ref Delaney Cuaresma made a big save in the 84th minute of the match on a Green Archers attack.
"Green Archers really made the game hard for us. We played okay but we have only trained for a week so you can't really expect a big performance from us,” said Younghusband.
In the first game, defending champion Philippine Air Force dropped a 1-0 decision against Kaya Cignal FC.
Eric Dagroh scored a quick goal in the fourth minute then Kaya held on for the win. — JVP, GMA News
