Denis Wolf, after opening the scoring for the Philippines in a friendly with Malaysia, confirmed that he will be unavailable for the Challenge Cup. The 29 year old striker cited passport concerns as the reason and his confirmed ineligibility for the Challenge Cup will come as a blow after his fine start to international football.
"It's unfortunate” he said after a strong performance in the Azkals' 1-1 draw with Malaysia. "But I hope it will be sorted soon after." Wolf has made a good start in his four appearances for the Philippines, bursting on to the scene in the Dili Kamo Mag-Isa friendly match with Korean side Icheon Citizen. Scoring the opening goal in the 1-1 draw with Malaysia he has shown good strength
and dynamic runs forming a good partnership with Phil Younghusband.
He said that "Phil is one of the best players I have every played with. We've only played together
for three games and we just need a bit more time playing together." Fans will remain hopeful the passport issues can be sorted and Wolf can soon represent the Philippines in major competitions. — JVP, GMA News
