Still climbing - Azkals now 127th in the world

The Philippine men’s national football team isn’t finished climbing yet.

A month after moving up four spots to 133, the idle Azkals still climbed the FIFA rankings, entering the 120’s range for the very first time at 127, the international football federation announced, Thursday on their website.

Despite not playing any games since their November 15 1-1 draw against India, the Azkals still leaped up six spots globally, improving to 17th in Asia, while still topping the table in Southeast Asia.

Iran is first placed in Asia at 33rd overall.

Globally, the top 18 did not change, with Spain, Germany, Argentina, Colombia and Portugal ranked from first to fifth, respectively. - AMD, GMA News
