PFF bares national football team's roster for AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers


The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) on Thursday bared the national team composition for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers set to be held from October 25 to 31 in Singapore.

Leading the 23-man squad are defender Justin Baas, midfielders Oliver Bias and Mark Winhoffer, forward Kieran Hayes, and goalkeeper Quincy Kammeraad.

Also making it to the lineup are Enrico Mangaoang, Jessi Semblante, Palo Perez, Christian Rontini, David Kevin Setters, Jethro Borlongan, Dennis Chung, Yrick Gallantes, Mandy Lloyd Ignacio, Oskari Johannes Kekkonen, Jacob Maniti, Sandro Reyes, Nathan Rilloraza, Mark Swainston, Shanden Vergara, Miguel Mendoza, Marcel Ouano, and Jens Sebastian Rasmussen.

The Philippines is pooled in Group H where it will be pitted against defending champion South Korea, Timor-Leste, and host Singapore. The Filipinos face Korea on October 25 at 5 p.m. followed by a clash with Singapore on the 28th at 8 p.m.

The nationals will wrap up the tournament with a duel with Timor-Leste on October 31 at 5 p.m. with all games being staged at the Jalan Besar Stadium, Singapore.

Winner of each group along with the four best runners-up will earn an outright qualification for the 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup to be hosted by Uzbekistan in June next year. — LA, GMA News
