Marañon scores hat-trick as Azkals end AFF Suzuki Cup campaign with win over Myanmar

The Philippine national men's football team ended its 2020 AFF Suzuki Cup campaign on a high note after a 3-2 victory over Myanmar on Saturday at the Bishan Stadium in Singapore.

Naturalized Spanish striker Bienvenido Marañon completed a hat-trick, converting goals in the 16th, 19th, and 45th minutes to lift the Azkals past Myanmar, who ended its campaign with a 1-0-3 win-draw-loss card.

The Azkals, meanwhile, will finish third in their group with a 2-0-2 record.

The Filipino booters failed to secure a semifinal berth after absorbing losses to host Singapore and Thailand, who both advanced to the next round along with Indonesia and Vietnam.
