Football officials lead groundbreaking ceremony for new PFF headquarters in Cavite
Football officials from the Philippines and FIFA on Saturday led a historic groundbreaking ceremony as the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) is set to build a new headquarters in Carmona, Cavite.
PFF president Mariano Araneta, Jr. and general secretary Edwin Gastanes ushered the event attended by FIFA officials Sanjeevan Balansingam and Niko Nhovannasak.
Funded under the FIFA Forward Program, the new home of PFF is a five-story building and will sit on a 4,231-square meter lot. The location was acquired by PFF through the AFC President's Development Infrastructure Initiative.
The headquarters is within walking distance from the PFF National Training Center, which has served as host to various football events in the past.
The development came just weeks after the national women's football team clinched a historic gold medal in the AFF Women's Championships 2022 after beating powerhouse Thailand in the championship round.
PSC Executive Director Guillermo Iroy, Jr., Carmona Mayor Dahlia Loyola, PFF Board of Governors, and PFF Member Associations presidents and representatives were also present in the ceremony.
