Meet Diwa: The official mascot of the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in the Philippines

The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) unveiled its official mascot on Saturday in Pasig City for the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by the Philippines from November 21 to December 7.

Meet Diwa.

According to the PFF, Diwa is inspired by the diwata, a mythical figure from Filipino folklore. The mascot symbolizes “power, grace, and teamwork—qualities that combine to make her a formidable futsal player and a beacon of inspiration for girls across the Southeast Asian country and beyond.”

In addition to her on-pitch attributes such as pace, vision, and strength, the PFF said Diwa’s “true power lies in her teamwork, with her profile offering a reminder that collaboration and community are at the heart of futsal.”

Sixteen teams, including the Philippines, will compete for the first-ever FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup title.
