PH drubs Timor-Leste in AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, 3-1

The Philippines strengthened its hold of the top spot in Group A of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers third round after a 3-1 drubbing of Timor-Leste at the New Clark City Stadium.

Timor-Leste had an early 1-0 lead in the first half, but the Philippine men’s national football team came back to secure the victory.

Jefferson Tabinas opened things up for the Philippines as he made his first goal before Bjorn Kristensen made the second at the 70th minute.

Jarvey Gayoso, meanwhile, sealed the victory with another goal at extra time.

With the victory, The Philippines, along with Tajikistan, hold identical 3-1-0 records and 10 points in the group stage. Earlier, Tajikistan also won against Maldives, 3-0.

The national team will return to action on November with an away game in Maldives.
