ES Recto lauds PH Women's Football team
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto has recognized the achievements of the Philippine Women's Football National Team and reaffirmed the government's support for the country's sports industry.
Recto met with the team on Wednesday as he congratulated them for winning gold in the SEA Games in 2025.
The team, in response, expressed gratitude for the support of President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. to them.
Recto then reiterated that the government would continue to support Filipino athletes through clear policies, sustained funds, and programs that will strengthen their talent development as well as their international competitiveness.
He earlier said the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) vowed to work together to upgrade sports facilities and strengthen the development of athletes across the country.
Recto said this was in support of the Marcos administration's goal of building world-class Filipino athletes, which will position the Philippines as a competitive sporting nation. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
