Philippines drubs Myanmar, 5-1, to cap Tri-Nation Friendlies
The Philippines drubbed Myanmar, 5-1, to cap the Philippine Men’s National Football Team Tri-Nation Friendlies on Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Jefferson Tabinas scored the opening goal a minute before halftime to give the Philippines a 1-0 lead. His brother, Paul, meanwhile, sparked the Philippines’ scoring surge in the second half with a goal in the 54th minute.
Sebastian Rasmussen extended the Philippines’ lead to 3-0 in the 80th minute before Myanmar got on the board through Win Naing Tun.
However, the Philippines responded with back-to-back goals, with Andrei Leipold finding the net first before Rasmussen completed his brace to seal the victory in the four minutes of added time.
The Philippines also defeated Guam, 5-1, in a friendly match last Wednesday.
