Veteran sports journalist Recah Trinidad has passed away at the age of 83.

His daughter, Nice, announced Recah’s passing on Sunday.

“Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to our beloved Dad, Ricardo ‘Recah’ Trinidad, who peacefully joined our Creator at around 6 a.m. today. Eighty-three years of a life well lived,” Nice wrote in a Facebook post.

According to Nice, Recah passed away in his sleep. The veteran journalist suffered a heart attack back in June.

“Dad was also a well-known sports journalist, dedicating many years of his life to his passion for sports and journalism. His voice, stories, and contributions will forever be remembered,” she added.

“Rest peacefully, Dad. No more pain. You are home. Thank you for being our Dad. I love you. We love you, and we will miss you forever.”

Details regarding Recah’s wake will be announced soon.

Recah’s son, fellow journalist Chino Trinidad, passed away in 2024.
