Kayla Sanchez misses Asian Games medal, finishes 4th in 100m freestyle

Kayla Sanchez narrowly missed out on an Asian Games medal after finishing fourth in the women’s 100m freestyle final on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan.

Sanchez clocked 53.65 seconds, finishing just 0.18 seconds behind China’s Yujie Cheng, who claimed the bronze medal with a time of 53.47 seconds.

Hong Kong’s Siobhan Haughey captured the gold medal in 52.45 seconds, while China’s Yu Yiting took silver in 53.21 seconds.

Sanchez’s compatriot, Heather White, finished 10th with a time of 56.01 seconds.

Meanwhile, in the men’s 400m individual medley final, Gian Santos placed 10th after posting a time of 4:25.90.
