IN PHOTOS: Carlos Yulo wins first PH gold in 2026 Asian Games

Carlos Yulo won the Philippines’ first gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games after ruling the men’s floor exercise final on Thursday in Japan.

Yulo scored 14.666 points to top the competition, while Kazakhstan’s Milad Karimi took silver with 14.600.

Japan’s Shoma Tsukiyama finished third with 14.566, while Yulo’s younger brother, Karl Eldrew, placed seventh among eight competitors with 12.233.

The Philippines now has six medals in the ongoing Asiad, including one gold, one silver from MMA’s Jean Claude Saclag, and four bronze medals from MMA, karate, and soft tennis athletes.
