Carlos Yulo wins second PH gold in 2026 Asian Games

Carlos Yulo won another gold medal in the 2026 Asian Games after ruling the men’s vault final on Friday in Japan.

Yulo posted an average score of 14.599, scoring 14.733 on his first vault and 14.466 on his second.

Iran’s Mahdi Olfati finished second with an average of 14.533, while Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Ki placed third with an average of 14.116.

Yulo’s compatriot Juancho Miguel Besana finished fifth with an average score of 13.783.

Yulo, an Olympic gold medalist and world champion, also won his first Asian Games gold on Thursday in the men’s floor exercise.

The Philippines now has two gold medals, both courtesy of Yulo, along with one silver and four bronze medals in the ongoing Asian Games.
