No. 2 seed Alexandra Eala of the Philippines will meet American Claire Liu in the final of the Hong Kong Tennis Open on Sunday.

Eala outlasted No. 4 Maria Sakkari of Greece in a rain-interrupted semifinal, winning 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 in two hours, 43 minutes. Eala only converted five of 22 break points, however two of them came in the deciding set. Sakkari struck a dozen aces but also double-faulted six times.

Liu advanced with a 7-5, 6-4 win against Russia's Alexandra Shubladze. She broke Shubladze's serve two consecutive times to end the match, finishing the victory on her third match point.

Liu won the only previous meeting with Eala, rallying from a set down to win in Guangzhou last year. Liu, 26, lost her only previous WTA Tour final at Morocco in 2022. Eala, 21, is seeking her second WTA Tour title after breaking through in Washington, D.C., in August.

No. 1 seed Janice Tjen of Indonesia and No. 3 Magda Linette of Poland will clash in Sunday's final in India.

Tjen advanced with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over unseeded American Robin Montgomery in 83 minutes. Tjen, 24, is attempting to defend her only previous WTA Tour title.

Linette rallied for a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 win against No. 7 Anastasia Zakharova of Russia in one hour, 55 minutes. Linette, 34, built a 5-1 lead in the decisive set and held on to win. She is chasing her fourth singles title and first since winning in Prague in 2024.
