Jeson Patrombon advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2012 Israel Men's F2 Futures after defeating Slovakian Marko Danis, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, Wednesday (PHL time).
The Slovakian controlled the tempo of the opening set with his solid shots kept the Filipino pinned to the baseline.
Patrombon, in the second frame, capitalized on his service and bakhand game to force his opponent to bend, revover and play defensively. The third set saw several long rallies with the Iligan native Patrombon using his whole arsenal to recover from his  first set loss to take the match.

"This tournament in Israel is proving to be the benchmark of so many up and coming young players in the world, testing and pitting their skills against much older rivals and mostly veterans in the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) Tour. Most players here came from the ATP Challenger Tours and some even made it to the Grand Slams," said Patrombon's coach Manny Tecson.
With the win, Patrombon earned his 11th ATP point to barge into the top 800 in the ATP world rankings. He faces tournament third seed Antal Van Der Duim of the Netherlands in the Round of 16. — AMD/JVP, GMA News
