Mandaluyong—Angelo Que, looking sharp and physically prepared, is aiming to reclaim his crown in the ICTSI Philippine Open, which starts February 9 at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.                  Que last won the Open crown in 2008 at Wack Wack’s demanding East course.  Since then, it has been a roller coaster ride for him, as he has been missing from title contention.                  But now, armed with a swing check by Bong Lopez and a baby girl as added inspiration, he hopes to hoist the crown for the second time for a career third Asian Tour win.                  “I’m playing for a family now. You have to think about your family. It is a different perspective but I like it now. It is bigger a responsibility,” Que said. “I haven’t had a year where I played consistently. I’m trying to change that because the problem with me is physical strength. I lack in that department so I’m going to get my body strong to play in more tournaments consistently,” he said. The proud new dad is actually on a four-swing tournament.  He is currently battling at the Zaykabar Myanmar Open.  After the Open, he’ll be flying to India for two events.  He is planning to win at least one to get him off the ground for success in the busy schedule ahead. The Philippine Open though, will be his utmost priority. “You always get excited playing in your national open.  It is the start of the year and you are not pressured to try and keep your card.  You want a fresh start and that’s the best way.  I think everybody is pretty excited especially in the Philippines,” he said. This year’s ICTSI Philippine Open will also enjoy a new landmark as the event will be beamed live over four days on the established Asian Tour television platform, which reaches 200 countries and over 645 million homes. “This is probably the first time we will get live for four days so it is good publicity for golf in the Philippines and hopefully people will watch at home and also come out to give us the support,” said the 33-year-old.  - AMD, GMA News
