AmBank Junior Open: PHL bets Ardina, Superal rule respective divisions
Dottie Ardina dominated the Under-18 division then compatriot Princess Superal gave the Philippine bets a second title in the RSGC AmBank Junior Amateur Open Golf Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Ardina had once again showed steady shot-making, hitting the fairways 12 out of 16 times while hitting 13 greens in regulation to finish with a 214 total for a seven-shot win over teammate Sarah Ababa. Ababa tallied a 221 after a 73 for runner-up honors followed by Malaysian Genevieve Ling's 78 for 230. Superal, the Montecillo Junior Golf Championships Flight A winner last week at the Orchard Golf and Country Club, topped the Under-15 plum after she carded a 73 for 221. Four down on 75-225 was Daniella Uy. Way down at third spot was Malaysian Siti Shaari (78-233). "Dottie is really making an impression as she prepares to defend her title in the Queen Sirikit Cup in April. Princess has been on fire since the Montecillo a week ago," said national coach Bong Lopez. — Adrian Flores/JVP, GMA News
