Philippine Sirens start SEA Swimming Championships water polo campaign
The Philippine Sirens water polo team left for Singapore Saturday, to compete in the first Southeast Asian Swimming Championships, to be held at the Toa Payoh Swimming Complex from May 28 to June 1. The ladies kickstart their campaign against Indonesia on Monday at 6pm, followed by a match against home team Singapore on Tuesday at 7pm. The ladies only get a one day break before they jump back in the pool to face Malaysia on Thursday at 6pm. The Sirens' last game will be at 6pm on Friday against Thailand. A total of 300 athletes from 10 countries are expected to participate in the event that will gather the region's best in swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and water polo. The Philippines will be joined by neighbors Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. - Renee Fopalan / AMD, GMA News
