Bowling: Paeng Nepomuceno earns USBC Gold Coach status

ARLINGTON - Paeng Nepomuceno of the Philippines, one of most highly-regarded international competitors and coaches in the world of bowling, recently earned his Gold level coaching validation through USBC Coaching Certification and Development, making him Asia’s first and only USBC Gold Level Certified Coach.

Nepomuceno, 56, USBC’s International Ambassador for Bowling, has teamed up with USBC for more than six years to promote the sport of bowling. He has taught Level 1, Bronze and Silver bowling seminars throughout the world.

"As a coach, for me, knowledge is a never-ending thing," Nepomuceno said, while working toward his Gold level validation at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington. "It will make me work harder so I can develop more coaches, and the coaches I train will develop more bowlers. Hopefully, it will get my sport in the Olympics some day when we develop more coaches and more bowling athletes. That's my ultimate goal, to help others."

The USBC Coaching Certification and Development Department conducts classes throughout the world to help train and certify coaches.

USBC Gold is the highest certification for coaches, much like receiving a doctorate in a field of study. Paeng is one of 25 active coaches to currently hold the designation.

"He is committed to teaching coaches throughout the world and we're pleased to have him join the elite rank of USBC Gold coach."

Nepomuceno is one of the most successful international bowlers of all time. He is a six-time world champion, and became the youngest world bowling champion at 19. All-in-all, he has 124 career titles. - GMA News
