V-League: Meralco jolts back to life with rout of Navy

The Meralco Power Spikers left the .500 mark behind them with a three-set sweep of the Philippine Navy, 25-21, 25-22, 25-16, Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Arena, in the Shakey's V-League Open Conference.

The win gave Meralco a 3-2 card, while the Navy remained without a win following three outings.

The Lady Sailors stayed close to their foes in the first two sets, but couldn't sustain their energy late, as the Meralco club surged away with this one.

Coco Wang got 15 of her 18 points off spikes, Fille Cainglet provided 13 markers. Maica Morada also contributed 10 three off serves.

The only player in double-digit scoring for the Navy was captain Michelle Laborte, who managed 12. Cecille Cruzada added nine, but no other player had more than five points in the loss. - GMA News
