There simply was no stopping the Cagayan Valley Rising Suns.

The undefeated side continued to play perfect volleyball, winning in three sets against the Air Force, 27-25 25-19 25-15, Friday at the FilOil Flying V Arena, to book the first Finals berth of the Shakey's V-League Season 10 Open Conference.

With each set, Cagayan managed to grow their margin of victory, before putting away their foes in just 23 minutes in the clincher.

Guest player Kannika Thipachot posted a game-high 18 points, 14 from spikes, plus three services aces, to lead the Rising Suns. She got more than enough help from team captain Maria Angeli Tabaquero, who added 14 markers, 13 coming from spikes and one off a block, while eight other Cagayan ladies scored at least one point.

Judy Ann Caballejo was the sole scorer in double-figures for Air Force. Joy Cases added seven, while Maika Ortiz managed just six markers.

Cagayan will now get some extra days of rest as they await the winner of Army versus Smart-Maynilad series, which will need a game three after Army won earlier on Friday. - AMD, GMA News
