Wushu artist Parantac gives Philippines third gold medal in SEA Games
Daniel Parantac captured the country’s third gold medal in wushu after he ruled the men’s taijijian event on Tuesday at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Naypyitaw.
Parantac scored an aggregate of 19.38 points after collecting 9.68 in the second and final round of the taijijian competitions to clinch the gold medal.
Parantac began the competition by scoring 9.70 points and held a slim lead over Myein Chan Ko Ko of Myanmar.
It was the second medal of Parantac, who won the first medal for the Filipinos in the 27th SEA Games by capturing silver along with John Keithley Chan and Norlence Ardee Catolico in the men’s duilian event.
Earlier, Jessie Aligaga and Dembert Arcita claimed the Philippines’ first two gold medals in the sanda event. - Reuben Terrado, SPIN
