MMA: Filipina boxer Jujeath Nagaowa added to ONE FC card

Filipina boxing champion Jujeath Nagaowa has been added to the card of ONE FC: Rise of Heroes, where she will take on Indian kickboxer Jeet Toshi, the mixed martial arts organization announced on Wednesday, via press release.

Rise of Heroes is the MMA outfit’s first event in the Philippines this year, slated for May 2 at the MOA Arena.

“Fans all over the world have been eagerly waiting for the debut of boxing champion Jujeath Nagaowa and she will make her MMA debut against a very tough Jeet Toshi,” said ONE FC CEO Victor Cui in the release.

Nagaowa will be the first Filipina fighting under ONE FC. She is a former WBC Asia Atomweight champ looking to transition over to MMA.

Her opponent Toshi is a seven-time kickboxing titlist from India, where she is considered the pioneer for female MMA.

Also added to the card is a heavyweight battle between James McSweeney and Chris Lokteff, and middleweight showdown involving Egyptian Mahmoud Salama, and the first Myanmar fighter in ONE FC, Aung La N Sang.

The main event of the fight is the Bantamweight title defense of Bibiano Fernandes against Masakatsu Ueda. - AMD, GMA News
