MMA: ONE FC: Era of Champions card features three Filipino fighters

The finalized card for ONE FC: Era of Champions, to be held on June 14 at the Mata Elang International Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, will feature a trio of Filipino fighters, the mixed martial arts outfit announced on Tuesday via press release.

It was previously announced that Geje Eustaquio of Team Lakay would take on Kentaro Watanabe in a flyweight bout, but today’s release has Eustaquio fighting after his compatriots Jomanz Omanz and Ruel Catalan.

Omanz, from Cebu MMA, is a boxer, with a record of 12 wins and two losses in that sport. His opponent, Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, is a Muay Thai world champion with Evolve MMA, creating an interesting clash of striking styles.

Catalan on the other hand, is a Wushu practitioner, who is coming off a TKO win against Cambodia’s Khim Dima during the preliminary card of ONE FC: Moment of Truth, last December 2013 in Manila. This time around, he’ll be facing Gianni Subba, an up-and-comer from Malaysia, who last fought for ONE FC in Rise of Kings, back in October 2012, where he picked up a KO win at the 33-second mark of the first round.

The main event is a flyweight battle between Kosuke Suzuki and Adriano Moraes, with the co-main event shining the spotlight on Sami Amin and Fransino Tirta. - AMD, GMA News
