Asian Games: Taekwondo's Pelaez adds another bronze to Philippine haul

Mary Anjelay Pelaez added another medal to taekwondo's haul for Team Philippines in the 2014 Asian Games, winning bronze in the women's -46 kg. competition on Wednesday.

 

Pelaez joined Samuel Morrison and Levita Ilao as bronze medal winners for the Philippine squad.

 

She began the day with a win over Nway Nway of Myanmar to advance to the semifinals. But she fell to Kim Sohui of host South Korea to settle for the bronze.

 

Two other taekwondo bets fell by the wayside, with Christian Dela Cruz bowing to Uzbekistan's Maksim Rafalovich in the men's -80 kg. quarterfinals and Pauline Lopez losing to Wang Yun in the round of 16. — JST, GMA News
