JML NZ Warriors record 4 straight titles at 2016 Manila 10s

The JML North Harbour NZ Warriors reclaimed the Manila 10s title for 2016.
Completing a clean sweep of all five matches, the Warriors proved too strong for both the local and international touring teams taking out the final 28 to 14 over the B2Gold Larrikins.
In a formidable performance, the Warriors showed class above all teams as they strolled through to earn their spot in the history books as the only team to win the Cup championship four times in a row.
The team is coached by Philippine Volcanoes Men’s 7s mentor Geoff Alley.

It was the story of the PTS Clark Jets however who won the crowd over the weekend, as they took out the Bowl Championship in exciting style beating archrivals, the Alabang Falcons with a convincing 27 points to nil victory in the final.
A team brought together through a mix of youth development players all of whom learnt the
game here in the Philippines, add to it a mix of some competitive expats to help even the playing field, saw the local Jets too quick and too strong for their opponents. Playing a brand of exciting rugby the Jets notched up impressive wins over the CBRE Makati Mavericks, HKFC Scorpions, INSEAD Barbarians and the Albay Vulcans.
The first time the club has tasted silverware at the Manila 10s.

“It was a great result for our rugby club, very proud of the way the players performed over the entire weekend. The Jets are known as a fast and electric team, however it was our defense that won us the games. In other results, the Cebu Dragons took out the Shield final, while the RMD Tigers from Hong Kong took the Plate Championship.
Local team heroes the Manila Nomads were knocked out early on day two in the quarter-finals of the Plate whereas the Alabang Eagles finished 4th overall amongst the 36 teams participating.
