Michael Martinez to hold figure skating camps at MOA, Cebu

After a year of competitions and training abroad, Michael Martinez has returned to the Philippines to hold skating workshops in Manila and Cebu.

He will be teaching around 80 students at the Mall of Asia (MOA) from June 15 to 17. There will also be a two-day workshop in Cebu.

"I'll be teaching basic stuff, the edges, the techniques of the jumps," Martinez said.

CJ Suarez, Sports Manager of SM Lifestyle Entertainment, Inc., the organizer of the Michael Martinez Skating Camp, said that Martinez is more than qualified to impart his knowledge due to his decade worth of experience.

"Michael has been skating for almost 10 years already. Nagkataon lang po na nabigyan po tayo ng opportunity to really tap into Michael and really support him," Suarez said.

The Michael Martinez Skating Camp will take place at the Mall of Asia (MOA) on June 15 to 17, and at SM Seaside City Cebu on June 30 to July 1.

Martinez will also perform at an ice show and attend a meet and greet on June 18 and July 2.

On July 4, he will return to the United States to continue his training. —JST/KG, GMA News
