Incoming University of the East freshman Alberto "AJ" Lim Jr. shocked third-seeded Ulysses Blanch of the United States, earning a 6-3 6-1 victory in Round 2 of Juniors Division of the French Open in Paris, France on Thursday.

With the win, the 17-year-old now prepares for the Final 16 as the lone Asian entry, going up against world no. 34 Marvin Moeller of Germany.

Lim is the son of UE men's lawn tennis coach Numero Lim. The Filipino, ranked 23rd in the world, is an incoming Business Management student at UE.

It is a packed schedule for Lim, who is expected to participate in Wimbledon, the Rio Summer Olympics, and the US Open throughout the year.  —JST, GMA News
