Fil-Am skier Asa Miller finishes 70th in men's giant slalom
Fil-Am Asa Miller landed in the top 70 of the men's giant slalom event of alpine skiing during his Olympic debut, Sunday, at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
According to the PyeongChang 2018 website, alpine skiing is "a discipline where the skier slides down snow-covered slopes on skis with fixed heel bindings."
In addition, the slalom event, "is raced on a course that demands short and rapid turns." The giant slalom course is "organised on a track that has even more open slalom widths."
The Philippine bet finished the second run of the skiing event at 1:22.43, faster than his first run at 1:27.52, where he placed 81st.
Miller had a total time of 2:49.95 for the skiing event, 31.91 seconds behind event gold medalist Marcel Hirscher of Austria.
Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway bagged the silver and France's Alexis Pinturault earned the bronze for the said event.
