SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc. also presented a certificate of recognition to Martinez for his efforts in representing the country and paving the way for Philippine ice skating.
Martinez finished 28th out of 30 in the men's single skating short program. He needed to enter the top 24 for him to qualify to the free skating round at the same arena.
Martinez only had two weeks of preparation, getting the call on January 23, when Swedish skater Alexander Mojorov's national committee returned his spot. — LA, GMA News
