Twenty men and women, one road to glory: "PWR Live: Path of Gold" is one of the last stops before — and may decide the main event of — the biggest show of the year, "Wrevolution X."

Path of Gold

One of the most important matches on the PWR calendar, Path of Gold pits most of PWR's formidable roster in a multi-man match for the choice to challenge for any title of their choosing at Wrevolution X 2018.

Much like "Lucha Underground's" "Aztec Warfare" match, two competitors start Path of Gold and one entrant enters every two minutes.

Eliminations can only occur inside the ring via pinfall and submission, with no disqualifications and count-outs. The winner is the last person standing at the end.

Miguel Rosales, who emerged the victor of a handicap match against PWR Champion Ralph Imabayashi and Rederick Mahaba, was named the first entrant for the match, perhaps as a form of punishment from the man he beat to get reinstated, General Manager John Sebastian.

Other competitors who declared for the match include the KakaiBros and Zayden Trudeau.

Still not convinced that this is a must-watch main event? Sample last year's Path of Gold match here:

PWR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH: Ralph Imabayashi (c) vs. Chris Panzer

Instead of allowing Rosales to have a shot at his title after soundly defeating him and his partner Mahaba, Imabayashi opted to have a rematch against former champion Chris Panzer.

Panzer, the previous winner of Path of Gold, will wrestle with his back still stinging from a backstage attack from Imabayashi and Mahaba in January. Delaying to fully heal up will forfeit his rematch.

Though without allies this time to ease his path to victory, Imabayashi will have the advantage of an injured Panzer for his first title defense.

PHILIPPINE HYBRID X CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH: Mike Madrigal (c) vs. ???

After lucking out a win in his six-man tag team match, and a series of admittedly brilliant title defenses, Madrigal boldly proclaimed that there was no one left to challenge for his PHX title.

Former General Manager Mr. Sy returned unexpectedly at the end of Madrigal's match at "Holding Hands While Wrestling" (HHWW) to announce that he's managing a talent worthy enough to challenge for the belt.

Whether it be a new talent, a familiar face, or one of PWR's many trainees, no hints have been dropped about the new prodigy of Mr. Sy, who seems to want to keep everything under wraps for the upcoming event.

PWR TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP 3-WAY TITLE MATCH: The Network (c) vs. Zayden Trudeau & BOLT vs. John Sebastian & Crystal

After a quick victory in HHWW, James "Idol" Martinez and Alexander Belmonte III of "The Network" pledged allegiance to Sebastian's vow to cleanse the PWR of undesirables.

Trudeau and Bolt came out shortly to confront the champions but in a twist, Crystal came out to aid Sebastian in decimating both teams, before Sebastian entered himself and his newly-revealed girlfriend into the Tag Team Championship match.

The Network and even Trudeau and Bolt during the tag team tournament for this match, originally a one-on-one for the belt, proved time and again that they're solid as a unit.

Sebastian and Crystal, while solid wrestlers in their own right, have never been in consistent tag teams nor have they teamed up before. Even with their unique bond, it would be a tall order for them to get past their opponents—unless they resort to trickery.

ALL OUT WAR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH: Vlad Sinnsyk (c) vs. The Apocalypse

Following their brawl near the end of their six man tag match, the powers-that-be in PWR pit Sinnsyk and The Apocalypse together in an All Out War, Last Man Standing match.

All Out War means there are no rules, no countouts, and no limitations; couple that with a rule where there could only be a winner after one opponent stays on the ground after 10 seconds, the coup de grace to this rivalry promises brutality.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own weapons for the match, with the exception of guns, knives, or any deadly weapons.

GRUDGE MATCH: Dax Xaviera vs. Jake De Leon

As if breaking his arm once wasn't enough, JDL now aims to break Xaviera permanently after the latter provided enough distraction in De Leon's match against SANDATA to give him the win.

Xaviera faces the difficult task of not only keeping the arm he injured during "Kingdom Come" intact, he also has to find a way to defeat an angry De Leon, who was already formidable before he was consumed with rage.

March comes with Path of Gold on the 11th, 2 p.m., the Power Mac Spotlight, Makati City. Tickets are available at pwr.tickets@gmail.com, Kramer: Toy Warden, Tavern at the Crossroads in Cubao Expo, and Pauline’s Printing. — AT, GMA News
