MANILA - Team Lakay's Danny Kingad was back to his winning ways after an impressive performance against Sotir Kichukov of Bulgaria on the undercard of "ONE: Visions of Victory" Friday night at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 22-year-old Kingad showcased an excellent display of striking and wrestling to dominate his foe. Kichukov, to his credit, refused to go down and even came close to securing a rear naked choke in the third round.

Nonetheless, all three judges awarded the contest to Kingad after three five-minute rounds as he improved his record to 6-1 while Kichukov fell to 13-8.

In the main event, Filipino-Australian Reece McLaren proved that he was a force to reckon with in the flyweight division after he submitted local favorite Gianni Subba in two rounds.

McLaren went to work in the second round after a back and forth exchange of strikes in round one.

A double leg takedown gave the Fil-Aussie the opening he needed and soon ended the fight with an arm triangle choke at the 3:12 mark of round two.

McLaren's victory improved his record to 11-5 and made him the number one contender for the ONE flyweight title.

Subba meanwhile fell to a 9-3 record. — DVM, GMA News
