Pinoy fighters Rolando Dy and Jenel Lausa lose in UFC Singapore
MACAU - Filipino fighters Rolando Dy and Jenel Lausa may have fought for the last time in the world's premiere MMA promotion following underwhelming performances during Saturday night's UFC Singapore preliminaries in Singapore's Indoor Stadium.
Dy, 26, looked sharp in the opening round but was out-landed in the striking department by his foe, Shane Young. A bloodied Dy fought on in round two, but was caught with a right elbow, which was followed by a barrage of punches that dropped him helpless to the mat.
Unable to defend himself, the referee stepped in to stop the contest at the 4:40 mark of round two. Dy's record fell to 9-7-1 while Young improved his to 12-4.
Flyweight fighter Lausa, meanwhile, was outclassed on the ground for two rounds by his Japanese opponent Ulka Sasaki. Lausa had no answer to Sasaki's takedowns and was ultimately submitted with a rear-naked choke the following round. The stoppage came at the 4:04 mark of round two.
It was Lausa's third straight defeat, dropping his record to 7-5 while Sasaki moved to 21-5-2. — DVM, GMA News
