It's a bittersweet podium finish for Daniel Patrick Caluag in the 2018 Asian Games BMX cycling event on Saturday, August 25.
Caluag, who brought home the lone gold medal for the Philippines in the 17th Asian Games in 2014, failed to defend his title and clocked in at 35.842.
He lagged mere seconds behind Yoshitaku Nagasako of Japan (33.669, Gold) and Gusti Bagus Saputra I (34.314, Silver).
His performance is still a cause for celebration, as it delivered the country's seventh bronze. As of current writing, the Philippines has 8 medals — one of which is a gold from Caluag's fellow Olympian, weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz. — AT, GMA News
